One day I will make a suit of bubble wrap to protect me from my clumsiness. No matter if I’ve seen something or not I WILL walk into it. Not a big problem to those who are ‘normal.’
Hyper sensitivity combined with a lack of spacial awareness equals pain! Sometimes the slightest touch can cause pain to radiate through the area, increasing in severity for what seems like an eternity until finally dying down. Pain free people you must think that I’m being melodramatic and I understand why you’d think so. If I had a pound for every time I heard “I/it barely touched you” I wouldn’t be a millionaire but I’d be pretty darn rich.
A bubble wrap suit would pop every time someone hugged me a bit too tightly, or I slightly caught the side of a piece of furniture. Every time anyone poked me or grabbed my arm. *Pop pop pop* maybe if they heard its sound, the pain would make a bit more sense. Bubble wrap doesn’t need very much pressure to pop, and I don’t need much to hurt.
My skin is permanently marbled with purple and blue bruises. A lesser known symptom of fibromyalgia is bruising more easily. In the summer I’ve noticed a few people look at me with confusion at the water coloured effect on my legs.
With all this in mind, it’s no wonder I won’t ice skate – now that would be just asking for trouble!
